  2. Dear Izzy,
I will never forget when I evaluated you for therapy services. You were just over 2 months old (adjusted) at the time. When I brought you into a sitting position, you smiled. Do you know how few babies smile when they are evaluated for their motor skills? You were, and will always be, so strong. I will always be blessed to have been your therapist and have met your entire family. They love you so incredibly much–I saw it every day.
Thank you for touching my life in the way that you did.

  3. Dearest Israel,
What a strong boy and great fighter you were! You and your brother were long hoped for by your mother and I know you brought her great joy. I loved you from the womb little guy! I am so thankful that your mom brought you and your brother over to play with us before God called you home. You were full of life and very active. You left a lasting mark on our hearts; quite literally on baby Mathan when you gave him a nice round bite right over the heart. So silly! We mourn, but angels rejoice to have you in Heaven. What a glorious day for them! We love you and you will always be a part of our lives and in our hearts.

  8. It is with the most heartfelt condolences that we, Grandmother , Madeline and Mr. Curley ask that our Father in Heaven pour the blood of His son Jesus over all of the Sterwad family. Give them mercy, grace, and grant them peace.
Israel is with our Father in Heaven, laughing, running around, and playing with other children.
We are asking you, Father, to surround the Steward’s with a hedge of protection.
    With the love of Jesus,
    We pray.

  21. Israel,

Your Cousin Jahmai and I are going to miss you. We only got a short time with you but we are glad to have known you. I remember you at your cousin Beau’s gender reveal, playing on the ground with your brother and climbing all over the couches. I remember looking at you and getting so excited for the baby I was about to have as I watched you laugh and explore with your brother. You are forever loved, missed, and always remembered. Monique and Christian we are with you always no matter what you need.

    Love,

    Bethany and Jahmai

      • Dear Israel,
I am sorry it has taken me a while to write you. I hope your travels are met with peace and healing.
I remember the first time I met you. You were quick! “Zoom” is the name I want to remember you by. Everytime I turned my head you’d be all the way across the room. You had places to go and were determined to get there.
I believe energy is constant; I know you are still here in a different form. Whenever Atsá pulls out the Hot Wheels, I think of you rolling those car wheels on the floor, the couch, and all surfaces. It’s no wonder I want to call you “Zoom”. You are like these cars on your way…and so the Creator called you.
It hurt, it hurts to know the physical pain you experienced. I am so sorry baby boy that this Earth can be a painful place to reside. You are such a brilliant and beautiful spirit-that left us too soon. I just want to hold you one last time and give you a BIG squeeze.
You and your brother were some of the first babies I cared for while doing postpartum work. I was not prepared for your departure, but I thank the Creator for crossing your path. To know you and care for you-Thank you!
Your mother is one of the strongest people I know. God is she strong and graceful. They say children choose their parents and I know why you chose her. A few months ago we sat on the backyard reminiscing about you and your brother running around the yard-it was bittersweet.
Keep on zooming-I know we’ll meet again on a different road.

        Love, Yolanda<3

  28. Dearest Israel,

My brother Chris had a g-tube button too! He would have been jealous of the comfy stylish little button patches that you had.
He was the most influential person in my life and changed me forever. Though he got to stay around a while longer than you did, I can tell that you already had a similar impact on everyone in your circle. What power you two souls have, and what a privilege for us who were transformed by you.

I wish I could play you a song on my saxophone or draw you a picture instead of writing. Linear words don’t really work so well to tell you how much I love you and your family.

    Melissa
